Training Assignments handled by the Core Team Members

The organization has a high profiled core team comprising of senior and grass-root level trainers having vast experience of providing training and conducting workshops/seminars. Some of the projects related to training handled by the members of the core team of Mediman, include –

Training of ICDS Frontline Functionaries, sponsored by Directorate of ICDS, Government of Uttar Pradesh

As the crucial link between the village population and the ICDS administration, Anganwadi Workers (AWWs) and Anganwadi Helpers (AWHs) are expected to play a pivotal role in helping the community to identify and meet the needs of their children and women. The Achievement of ICDS goals is crucially dependent upon the overall efficiency and effectiveness of these grass root level functionaries. Under the World Bank funded UDISHA project, Lead person of our team was instrumental in constituting 65 mobile training teams (of 3 members each) for conducting capacity building programmes for these functionaries at block-level all over the State.

TOT for ICDS Functionaries at MLTC in Moradabad, sponsored by Directorate of ICDS, Government of U.P.

The achievement of the ICDS goals is totally dependent upon the efficiency and effectiveness of the ICDS functionaries. Recognizing this, the Directorate of ICDS, UP, had formulated a comprehensive scheme for providing proper training to the different functionaries involved in the ICDS program. Lead person of our team was associated as the State Consultant in the formulation of this World Bank funded training scheme, named, UDISHA. Under the World Bank funded UDISHA project, he had established a Middle Level Training Centre (MLTC) at Moradabad. In the Middle Level Training Centre (MLTC), the MukhyaSevika’s (Supervisors) of ICDS were imparted Job Training and Refresher Course.

Training on Use of IEC Aids in Pulse-polio Programme, sponsored by UNICEF

UNICEF supports the Pulse-polio Programme in the State in big way. It has deployed a large team of social mobilizes at community, block and district levels. They largely focus on non- acceptors and underserved population. Our prominent member was involved in the capacity building of Block Mobilizations Co-ordinators (BMCs) for making effective use of IEC aids developed for the purpose.

Training of Grassroots-level Functionaries of U.P. MahilaSamakhya

Lead person of our team was the Principal Training Coordinator for the 7-day training programme of the ‘Sahyoginis’ and the District-level coordinators of UPMS. In addition, the training also focused upon various concepts regarding financial management, accounting and record keeping as well.

Capacity Building Workshop for Multi-Disciplinary Team on ECD

Recent researches have conclusively proved that the first three years of a child, beginning from the pre-natal stage, are the most crucial period and the care and attention provided by family members, is critical for the development outcomes for the young child. Keeping this in mind, a project “Kopal” (“The Beginning of Life”) was launched by the programme managers — aimed at developing resource teams that would concentrate on facilitating better parenting, safe motherhood, quality care for new-borns and promoting infant care practices for optimal early child development. Lead person of our team was part of the team deployed for conceptualizing the project right from its initiation phase up to the stage of conducting various brain-storming sessions with various experts, officials from UNICEF and the ICDS Directorate and various other stakeholders. In this regard, a series of capacity building workshops were organised comprising of various child development functionaries, including AWWs, ANMs, women Gram Pradhans, and primary school teachers.

Other Training Activities on Health and ICDS

  • Management and Execution of Training on the Revised Childhood Diarrhoea Management in Uttar Pradesh.
  • Organised training programme of Medical Officer on ‘Baal Swasthya and PoshanMah’ in several districts of Uttar Pradesh.
  • Organised the training program of Health and ICDS functionaries on Anaemia Control in Gumla District of Jharkhand. The program was assisted by MOST India Project of USAID.
  • Participated in the state level seminar on ‘Strengthening Training on IYCF’ organized by UNICEF.
  • Involved in the Developing Training Modules for deferent type of Anganwadi Workers’ Trainings in Uttar Pradesh.
